woke early on the morning of the 2nd day to buy breakfast for mine and js's mortals. yea we are going for a urban hike at the cityhall area. we set off happily for amk mrt station to take the train to cityhall. when we reached the mrt station we gave a loud cheer to let everyone know of our presence ;) haha. our aim was achieved, so many people was looking at us =) . even though i taught the kids to sing the song titanic with the actions and shouted some cheers at the platform, me and js did not dare to continue once we were in the mrt. sean spoiled the market by bombing us so we had to retaliate. it ended up in an extended cheer fight and irritated a lot of people on the mrt but we couldnt care less =p .
upon reaching cityhall we went thru citylink to get to the underpass underneath the esplanade where a lot of dancers strut their stuff. played a simple but interesting game that tested our reflexes by "attacking and defending" against other grps by making stupid actions :) . after that we were supposed to set off for the treasure hunt but heaven was so unkind. it started raining and the committee din have a wet weather programme. damn...we had to think of stuff to do for 5 hours. so we just took one thing at a time and lied to the kids loh. tried to get them to go ard taking photographs of some landmarks and told them that would earn them bonus points. sat down and played the "10 cent coin" game at the waterwheel opposite marina square. had a lot of fun playing the game and making ppl do interesting forfeits and sabo-ing other instructors. had lunch there also before the security guard came to chase us away :( . went back to our starting point below the esplanade and played more games together wif wala. had a competition wif them to see who can sing "my bonnie" faster wif the required actions. we were supposed to stand in a small and tight circle and stand/sit on each other's lap whenever there's a word that starts wif b. it was so funny seeing them do that but it also build up the trust we have in one another as we must be confident that the person behind us will endure your weight and not let go. played the 10 cent coin game with wala after that.
by then the rain had stopped and we had come up with a list of items for a scavenger hunt. it consists of stuff like namecard from tourists, lipstick marks, serviettes from restaurants and shit. yes tats rite. shit, da bian. so we proceed on to the esplanade's rooftop terrace to take photos again. after that we gave the list to the kids and told them to find the items on the way back. they were so excited about the scavenger hunt and when we ask for volunteers to find one item, so many raised their hands. they managed to find almost everything, even birdshit. took some more pictures at famous places on the way back. felt so relieved the urban hike was over. had such a hard time always thinking of activities to do, really tested our spontaneity.
the whole camp gathered once again for dinner and the sing-a-long session. heard that yesterday's singalong was so bad but all of us were determined to change that today. the instructors were so hyper that it caught on to the kids. all of us had a lot of fun, even the instructors. *salutes*. the kids were so high that they didnt sleep on the way back while the instructors were trying hard to keep their eyelids from closing. the day ended on a joyous note =) .
here are some photos of the 2nd day.
