ktv session was not to be. after getting quite a lot of ppl to go, i found out that there is no members' night on this monday. either its because of the chinese new year or members' night has been scraped altogether, the latter would be disastrous. so we met up instead to watch the movie "hotel rwanda". here's a synopsis of the movie: "Ten years ago, some of the worst atrocities in the history of mankind took place in the country of Rwanda; and in an era of high-speed communication and round-the-clock news, the events went almost unnoticed by the rest of the world. In only three months, almost 1 million people were brutally murdered. In the face of these unspeakable actions, inspired by his love for his family, an ordinary man summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages." its a real touching movie and i highly recommend u peeps to go catch it.

lunar new year eve! half day of school :) . went to eat at cafe cartel with charlene, cynthia and chun meng after school. went home to sleep for a while before having reunion dinner. fatt choi spirit was showing on tv after dinner and i finished the show even though im late to meet my friends at river hongbao. saw it before but it was still interesting to me as there isnt much mahjong show around. felt so tempted to play some mahjong after watching the show...hee. went down to river hongbao. surprisingly it was not very crowded there. nothing much to see there except for the fireworks at midnight. my first time seeing the chinese new year fireworks. the fireworks display was longer than i expected. almost as long as the fireworks festival last august but not as spectacular. we drove to chinatown after midnight to see if there's any stuff we can pick up. aiyah dunno how we dilly dally. we ended up going into the night bazaar only at 3am plus after supper at maxwell market. think the good stuff have been snatched up...nothing much was left. damn tired after walking around and buying some new year goodies so we left for home at 6 plus in the morning.

slept for only 3 hours plus before visiting my grandma. hmm...dun feel tired at all. played some blackjack over there. my luck was damn good. managed to win quite a lot even though the wagers were small. went to my aunt house after that before going to my friend's house for mahjong. finally! alas luck was not on my side. my tiles were as bad as the ones andy lau had when he was cursed by gigi leung in the show...haha. lost money after one whole night of mahjong :( . won back some at daidee afterwards but it was no where near to the money i lost. come to think of it, mingchun's luck was really good. hee must be his rewards for all the charity he has done.

mahjong again! this time at chun meng's house with cynthia and charlene. we were super lenient to cynthia and charlene. charlene keeps forgetting to draw tiles after getting the flowers and animals. cynthia was constantly reminding charlene to draw the tiles but i were very against the idea as i think punishing her (monetary) will make her learn as we were not playing big money. if not she will always need people to help her whenever she plays mahjong. cynthia had a zha hu!! she shouted hu and started to turn over her tiles. seeing she did not have any tai i tried to stop her and asked her to count her tai first but she was so certain of her win that she turned over her tiles even while i was stopping her. indeed she didnt have any tai so she has to pay a straight $19.20. it was a damn sorry sight :( . anyway we allowed her to continue with the game without paying. i was losing quite a lot of money before i suddenly had a zhi mo 5 tai. i recouped all my losses in one game and my luck after that round changed. managed to win a few more rounds before we stopped playing. it was quite a dramatic night...with the zhi mo 5 tai (maximum win) and the near zha hu(maximum loss)...hee. the 4 of us took a cab down to school for 2 agonizing hours of lecture after the mahjong. it was finally over and here i am writing this.
gotta catch up on my sleep~
