the term break has ended. nothing special happened this week. volleyball, shopping, working, beach and a mini birthday celebration for sean.
participated in yet another beach volleyball competition last saturday. really grateful to tracy for asking me to join them. played 6 matches in total, won 3 and lost 3. even though we have 2 good players from temasek poly in our team, we still couldnt get into the 2nd round because there's so many good teams around and its the first time we're playing together.
"would you rather have wings to fly or spend the rest of your life wanting it?"
chanced upon this question. how would you interpret it?
i believe that many of us wish to be freed of all worldly pursuits and be able to fly freely like a bird. but is being able to fly really such a wonderful feeling once u can experience it everytime, anytime u want? or is it better to never know the actual feeling of flying and let it remain a beautiful and perfect dream in your heart? sometimes you may want something so much all your life but when you actually get it, it shatters that ideal that you hold dear to you and you would rather not have it in the 1st place so that you can continue to dream about it.
it might even turn out that if you get what you want easily, then you wont even appreciate it that much. instead the process of wanting something so much and working towards it will make you appreciate all the small things that bring you closer to your goal and make you a better person even though you might never get what you want.
haha all this is making me sounds like a pessimist. seriously im not :p ! im actually very optimistic. well, im not so optimistic about starting school tmr..... ;)
