got my results through sms today. actually i already checked it online on the stroke of midnight yesterday. wasnt too happy with my results but not really disappointed. most of it were what i had expected, lotsa C+, one A,B and C each. dont know how vijay grade our radiation biology. how could chun meng gotten an A and yet i only got a C+? totally crap. argh...shant bother about my results for the moment. at least made a great improvement over last sem after some effort.
champions league final kicking off later. im going to support milan just to reiterate my point that only chelsea among all the english teams has the capacity to win the champions league :p .

day 1: sunday
after meeting at 930 in the morning, we set off for segamat by train. the train ride was super long. and worst still, the aircon broke down halfway and it was so hot we were sweating. the food sucks too. but at least we managed to get 4 seats facing each other with a table in the middle so me, yihui, mel and sandy (most of the we in this post will refer to the 4 of us) can play cards and listen to my wonderful selection of mp3s ;) with yihui's speakers. after reaching segamat, we took a bus to our destination. after registering with the rangers' office, we proceeded up to set up camp at the base of mount ophir. there was a small stream there and we wasted no time in climbing up the rocks and lying there to let the water splash on us. when we were about to cook dinner, it started raining heavily. so the 10 of us had to squeeze inside a tiny pavilion to cook our meal and brave the cold. luckily the rain stopped soon after but still i did not get a good night sleep, waking up at least 6 times in 5 hours.
day 2: monday
this was the most exhaustive day for me although we only trekked from 830am to 1230pm. we were going to trek up to campsite 4 to set up camp for the day. my 55 litres bag was at its heaviest during the whole trip with around 5 litres of waters, many canned food and the camping necessities. on top of that, i had to carry one tent in my hand. after trekking for a while, i took over another 1.5 litres of water from sandy as her bag was already quite heavy. one quarter of the way later, roger was struggling to catch up and he asked for someone to help him carry the tent. i took the tent for him. it was taking tremendous effort from me to go up every step. it was like doing a one legged squat with 100kg of weight. oh, i was actually doing that, pushing myself up every step with one leg. finally managed to reach the campsite and there was a very nice rapid beside our campsite! after setting up camp, we went to the stream and lie on the rocks in the stream to suntan. we even ate apples and listen to music while resting there. the water was icy cold and we ended up playing games like finger guessing game, zhong ji mi ma and splashing cold water on the loser. a nice and relaxing way to finish off the day of tough trekking.
day 3: tuesday
we were going to start our trek at 4am in the morning. this time we were going to go all the way up to the summit but only with a small day pack. we woke up at 3am and started our preparation for the climb to the summit. this was going to be my first night trek (excluding those in the army) in my life...so exciting :) . after familiarising with the terrain, i decided to switch off my torchlight as my first battery ran out and i want to save my only spare battery for the rest of the nights ahead. i just used a very bright lightstick to guide my way. the trek seemed endless. there was also quite a few challenging obstacles along the way. the most difficult was this 60 degrees inclined 4 storey high boulder that we had to climb with a rope. after hiking for around 6 hours, we finally reached the summit. took lotsa photos and took a break. we had to rush down to our campsite coz we still have to pack up and go down to the 1st campsite before dark. we only had 1 hour to pack up our stuff and have lunch before we set off again. as we left the campsite, it started to rain. the terrain was getting dangerous. as we were crossing a rapid, roger slipped and fell. thank god he got his leg stuck in between some rocks and the ranger and me helped him out. i really dun want to see history repeat itself so i was always ready to pull onto the person in front and behind me. going down in wet terrain was very dangerous. roger slipped another time but i was in front of him to stop his fall. here and there people fell, but nothing serious happened. i was super duper relieved when we reached the campsite safe and sound. after dinner and supper, i had the best sleep in 3 days.
day 4: wednesday
packed up and left the place. the 4 of us decided to stop over at jb for a nice dinner before going back to sg. brought them to taman sri tebau. with only 10 sing dollars each, we ate until we feel like throwing up. ordered crayfish (yummy!), stingray, sotong, oyster omelette, chee cheong fan and satays. all this for only 80rm!! shiok!
this is my first trekking trip after that fateful incident. its been a long 4 years and i decided its a good time and venue to start as mount ophir is not very difficult. everything went well and im very glad that i decided to go for this expedition. special thanks to the organisors, to mel for providing company, and to sandy and yihui for being the butt of my suaning ;) .
here are some photos of the trip.
look at the waterfall behind us!
the 4 storey high boulder.
at the summit! look, im on the same level with the clouds!
view from the summit. simply breathtaking!

saw this personality test on jer's blog that is similar to the one i took before. it came out with the same result even though there's only 4 questions compared to the 50 i did.
You're an ESTP
ESTP
You're action-oriented...pragmatic (look it up!)...outgoing and realistic. In situations that require resourcefulness, you use your quickness and flexibility to find the most efficient route to accomplishing whatever needs to be done.
You are lively....entertaining...fun...like to be where the action is.... like to participate fully in what's going on.... you are direct with your comments and don't mince words.... you are at your best in situations that require an orientation to the present and a direct, no-nonsense practical approach.
You're active, easygoing, and spontaneous...extremely realistic...curious and keen observers...charming and popular...you're outgoing, versatile and have an endless supply of jokes and stories for whatever situation you find yourself in...ok, you're funny too! You can be good at easing a tense situation...
You like(d) school because it gives/gave you a place to meet friends and to be involved in activities. Oh, yeah. Education and academics were there too, but you don't care so much about THAT. You're action-oriented...likely to be on a sports team or other after school activities.
You'd rather DO something rather than read about others doing activities. You like hands-on experience...you like it when expectations are realistic and when the explanations for a task are clear. You like teachers that are entertaining and make learning fun and active.
You like crises 'cause you can dive right in and fix things. You like to make things happen quickly.... you're willing to take risks, aintcha? You can take charge readily, ESPECIALLY in crises...you can react and make it work...you love leisure and kicking back...you're probably involved in sports, as a fan if not a player...
You're a daredevil at times...as a fan, you're pretty animated and excitable. you like collecting things related to a hobby...you like people who "live on the edge." A perfect partner for romance would be one you can do fun things with...sharing life's up and downs...you like to use your persuasive- ness and fun-loving nature to win over the opposite sex...
You don't like dull routine, even in your relationships....it makes you feel confined...you're pretty straightforward with the relationship, including recognizing when it's over....
Watch out for these things, though...don't over-rely on improvisation.. while you might like putting out those fires, that's no reason to create an emergency...you'll just overload from stress...don't sacrifice follow- through in your work to meet the problems of the moment...don't get too focussed on material things and ignore the things that count, like other people...stop being so blunt and direct! Think about others' feelings...

its been such a long time since i've blogged. i dont know how many nights have i not sleep only to sleep a few hours in the day and then go out again. where can i find the time and energy to blog in this way? haha. the nights were spent on overnight vcd marathons, mahjong, ktv-ing and clubbing. i've finished tian long ba bu (the serial that is showing on chn u) le. its super nice can. have been a fan of jin yong's novels and tian long ba bu is my favourite among them all! so can u imagine my excitement when i know that my fren has the full set of vcds? i finished twenty plus episodes in 2 nights, each one lasting 12 hours. the only reason y i didnt finish it in one day was because i had to get the 2nd half of the vcds on another day.
alrite, i watched 3 movies this past week.
1) kingdom of heaven
this show was okie, it started well but got a bit draggy in the middle and finished with somewhat of a disappointment. maybe i have high expectations for such movies after lord of the rings and troy. thats y i dont feel it is that good. i would say good but forgettable in my opinion.
2) house of wax
i never got frightened once by this movie. but then again, i've never got frightened by horror movies...haha. the 1st half was pretty boring. after some twists (not totally unexpected ones) the movie heated up. its quite gruesome with all the blood and gore. i tink the movie was made more exciting by jer's screams :p .
3) the jacket
i dunno y i watched this movie. okie, its because my fren want to watch it. i dunno y she would want to watch it either. i remembered watching the trailer while watching house of wax and them mentioning it seemed not bad. i just thought it seemed like a b class low budget flick...haha. i didnt mention it then and forgot all abt it until i bought the tickets. the show was so horrible i slept half of the show. well, maybe its because i was so tired from clubbing last night and working the whole morning without sleep. but i could finish the whole house of wax without sleeping too even when i didnt sleep the previous night.
okie by now u might be thinking i love bashing movies (reminder: i've bashed kungfu hustle too). i dont, and i love movies. so even though they increased the prices of movie tickets, i will still go to cinemas (albeit only on weekdays ;) ). i know i will love stars war episode 3 and initial d :D

went for the mount ophir training at bishan (yes im going mount ophir on 15-18 of may). we were to climb a 30 storey flat. melissa was almost dead before she even reached the top. bet she never knew going down stairs was so difficult :p . went clubbing with marvin, chung yi, yanne, huips and 2 of their friends. me and marvin forgot that there's no cheaper entry at zouk on wednesday and we went in before 10! it was like a ghost town. but the crowd came pouring in and by 11 plus, phuture was packed like hell! the gers were getting drunk on long island tea...haha. its still as strong as ever ;) .

had to dragged myself out of bed to go for a prudential tv commercial casting. dug out my army uniform as the casting is for army man. alson who was also supposed to go for the casting couldnt wake up as he was also at zouk the previous night. waited for very long (as usual) before my turn. acted out some scenarios and did some push-ups for them before going back to school for volleyball training.
weekend
spent my sat at sentosa as usual. sunset bay was quite empty. there was actually empty courts around. haven seen so little people on a sat for such a long time. could be because of the scorching sun. the sand was so hot at noon that one cant even stand on it for more than 10 seconds. i took the chance to play a lot of 2 on 2s. im getting addicted to 2 on 2...its so much fun and u get to touch the ball on every rally. couldnt stop until it became too dark to see :) .
never ever pang sei me!! i'll get fucking pissed. whenever my friends ask me to do something or go somewhere, im always on for it if i can make it. i dont expect the same from my friends but at least dont pang sei. was supposed to meet a friend at 3pm at east coast to skate on sunday. i received a msg at 2.40pm. he said it looked like its going to rain soon and he's going bishan to skate instead (bishan is nearer his house)! i only saw the msg at 3pm coz i was listening to my mp3. but what the hell! 2.40 im already on the way liao lah. i called him angrily and told him im already at east coast and asked him what did he intend to do now in attempt to give him a chance to redeem himself and offer to come down. no! all he could muster was "i really feel sorry for u leh". all those weeks when u all wanted to skate and i never said no and this is wat i get. well, FUCK YOU! at least i got my wheels fixed at one of the shops at east coast and didnt go in vain...
went night cyling with some friends on sunday night too. ate tim sum and durian at geylang. yummy ;) . our original plan was to go east coast but mingchun got injured and his toe nail was left dangling. so we had to head home early. jeffrey called me at 3am when i reached home and asked me if i wanted to play mahjong. ended up playing with "fei" (something like a joker which can be any tile u want) which i never play before. couldnt make full use of "fei" potential while the rest were all "zhi mo"-ing 4 or 5 tai coz the "fei" allows them to be waiting for many winning tiles instead of 2 or 3. lost fourty over bucks. feels like im paying the fees for learning mahjong all over again :( .
labour day! took the chance to go down to sunset bay again. was not at all tired even though i didnt sleep the whole night. played volleyball and chill as usual.
im waiting for the chelsea and liverpool match now. going to take a nap first. go chelsea go! give the english teams one more champion league trophy! :D
