had my communcation presentation on thursday. i think everything went quite well for me except for one part where i forgot my script. we did a debate for the topic good communicators are made, not born and a short video clip of a skit in a clinical setting. our speeches for the debate were a bit wordy and draggy but i think it was good overall with the few unsuccessful meetings we tried to have.
took part in yet another beach volley competition, this time organised by safra radio. it was a one set single round knock out system and guess who i drew against. a team comprising 2 guys from the champion team for the quiksilver student challenge and 2 guys from the second runner up. was cursed and sweared by my team mates for not drawing against the all girls teams or some other teams. although we lost i felt that this team that i formed this time played a lot better than the one at the quiksilver. being the cheapskate i am, i was quite happy with both our performance and the free goodie bag ;) (no registration fee).
went to help out at teck ghee cc's "super sunday", a family day carnival. was supposed to scare kids in the "haunted house" wearing scary costumes. we got our desired effect as kids were crying for their mummies. ate a lot of food and ice cream from the food stalls as food for the helpers is free...hehe. got myself a nice henna on my left shoulder by michael too.
My skin colour is actually a darker shade than the henna dye. sheesh.
read chun meng's analogy on our school life and suddenly remembered what my friend told me before. after knowing how packed my time table is like, he asked me what is my profession's starting pay. i told him its roughly 1800 for males and he was like "wah u all study like siao yet the pay so little ah". *#%_!(@$%!! okie let us not compare with him coz he's from ntu business and they have like 3 days week. but our time table is really fucked up. its almost 9 to 5 everyday and there's days that we start at 9am and end at 8pm. there are quizzes every week that will constitute 5-10% of our grade. yea its not a lot but we dont want it to cause us to get one or two grade lower just because we didnt prepare for the stupid quizzes. our semester breaks are short and ill-timed. so much for the "elective" module that was chosen for us. little wonder im not catching up with friends and not meeting new ones. dont tell me the crap that when i start to work its the same. im still a student and should still enjoy my student life. and i dont even have to study for stupid quizzes after i knock off from work.
whew~.... all my frustration for the current sem is all out. alrite lets look forward to the ONE week break after our tests this coming week (read: no blogging).
ps: just to clear any misconception, physiotherapists are not masseurs. they just happen to learn how to give very good massages ;).

worked at starhub over the weekend. all this while i have been working as a promotor but this time round they decided to "upgrade" me to counter sales whereby i will be filling in application forms for maxonline and cabletv. was quite stressed initially as i had never fill in an application form before and i had to do it at a major roadshow the first time im doing it. i know totally nothing about the procedure and any mistake in counting the money would be disastrous. but after the first few forms i began to relax a little as i know more abt the procedure. standing beside huimin help a lot :) . by the second day i was totally at ease. it was quite a fun experience especially working with people like denise, weisiang, huimin, yingda and yiwen :) .
theres a entrepreneurship fair in school today. health science students taking the entreupreneurship elective had to set up booths to strut their product and services. had a shoulder and back massage done by grace (a physiotherapist). the massage was sensational!! it was strong and hit all the right spots. my shoulder and back was so loose and relaxed after the massage. ive fallen in love with good massages. im so gonna marry a physiotherapist!! ;)
having my pyschology presention tomorrow. going to rehearse for it now. hope everything will go right tomorrow.

as many of u would have known by now, i fell sick during my bangkok trip. was already not feeling right on the flight there but i couldnt pinpoint what was wrong with me. it turned out that i was running a fever. i always cannot feel the increase in body heat until my temperature is over 38 degrees, which is not really a good thing. as it is, i survived on 8 panadols a day (which is the max). didnt really buy a lot of things for myself as i was not in the mood. however still did a lot of shopping for friends and i ended up buying more things for them than for myself. chatuchak weekend market is a must go and i personally would recommend going to khao san street also. its a backpacker's haven with all the inns and hostels, the night bazaar and the brightly lit drinks push carts that is so popular there. the alcohol there is really cheap with a cocktail costing like S$2.50. if i werent sick i would have sat down and drink with the other backpackers. i experienced acute ear pain due to barotrauma on the flight back. i was having a flu and my eustachian tubes (in the ear) were blocked and i couldnt equalise the pressure. i was so scared that my ear drums would burst there and then and i couldnt hear for the rest of my life. luckily it wasnt so bad but i still couldnt hear properly till the next morning. even though i was sick i still enjoyed the whole trip to bangkok. the cost of living there is so cheap and the people so nice and friendly. i practically ate like a king there while spending so little. the shopping was good too though most of the things i bought were for others.
at changi airport before setting off =)
one of the balcony of the backpacker's inn (suk 11) i stayed at. the place costs less than S$10 per night and the decor was very cozy with airconditioned rooms and breakfast. it was also very accessible. highly recommended!
early in the day at chatuchak market with some "conquers" already ;)
royal thai food buffet. it cost less than S$8 but the food was good :)
the pushcart i was talking abt that sells alcohol and cocktail. the pic is not very clear here but u get the idea.
had a wonderful weekend and public holiday. coz all 3 days were spent at the beach playing beach volleyball ;P . esp played my heart out on national day. sabrina was there with her frens too, wearing....haha u all figure it all urself. my face is getting too dark for my own good...looked so ugly now.
1st test of the semester today. fell asleep again while trying to study for it yesterday night. skipped lectures this morning to study in the library. sabrina commented i slept for sometime while trying to study. sighs. even though i slept so early last night i still fell asleep again in the morning. anyway stayed back till late in school and managed to see the results of the test hee shen put up on the noticeboard. got a b. was quite satisfied with my result but it was because the test was easy.
going to skip class again tmr, meaning i have to miss the statistics mock test. been skipping a lot of lessons coz of the bangkok trip and my recent ill health. promised myself this is going to be the last one as i had already promised to work for starhub over these coming 3 days.
alrite going to watch the results for project superstar...
