had the best time of my life this weekend. doing simple things with the right person can still be so perfect. even though everything didnt start well, simply the thought of doing something already made me smile. even though the wait was long, thinking of u made it bearable. eating tim sum for breakfast and simply just walking ard with you buying snacks for me made my day, no matter how tired i am. im really happy u are willing to spend the whole day with me. happy also that u are willing to risk going home late to eat something i like. and for the card. i will always remember wat you wrote on it and also how u wrote it ;) . next time dun be shy ok? :p
thank you...

everybody is blogging abt the hectic sch life. i shall do my part also :p . i was almost tricked into believing i had a relaxing sem when i first got my time table. most days end by 3pm, 1 day at 12pm and no sch on fri on most weeks. i tink outright conned would be a better word. had endless meetings for behavioural sci and final year project. endless assignments for radiation informatics on choosing a radiology information system and operating system for a hospital, photoshop and now web design. on top of the almost weekly quizzes. going to the gym became a chore. forcing myself to go for a run even though im having a slight headache or feeling light headed because i have to run to keep my weight down and there isnt a day i dun feel like tat. the result of averaging less than 4 hours of sleep a day. add working on the next weekend to all this.
the only respite from all this is you =)
and now an overdue pic

took part in the biggest beach vball competition of the year over the weekend. it was called quiksilver open the past few years but the organisers decided to get ripcurl to sponsor this year so it was called ripcurl open. out of the 3 group matches, we won 2 and lost 1. the team who won us went on to win their 3 group matches so we got knocked out. there was no way we are going to win if we cant even receive simple balls. i was angry with our performance at 1st. the anger turned to disappointment. i had high hopes of getting into the 2nd round at first but it was not to be. the lack of one male member proved to be fatal as there was simply no blocker. whatever it is, we did our best even though it was not enough. at least we ended on a high note by thrashing our opponents in our last game and the ripcurl singlet was nice.

ITALIA: 2006 World cup Champions
the world cup has finally ended after 4 weeks and 64 matches. it has been the most memorable world cup in my life. i started watching the world cup in 1994, when brazil lifted their fourth title after winning a penalty shootout in which roberto baggio of italy missed. i supposed i was too young then to really remember the details of 94 and 98. i missed much of the last world cup in 2002 due to army commitments and i dont even remember who brazil won in the final as i didnt watch it. im lucky this time round, as my holidays happened to be in june which is not usually the case. i managed to catch every single match of this world cup, sans a couple of matches. and it is also the 1st time i caught the final outside, along with a few hundreds soccer fans. it has been an exciting and interesting experience, even though i still begrudge starhub for making me pay extra when i subscribed to the sports group a year ago just to watch the world cup. withdrawal symptoms of no world cup has already kicked in and i will do myself a lot of good to adjust back before the sch term got into full swing. not that its easy to do when i have a couple of dvds to watch and a new korean serial starring Rain(!) and lee dong gun.
watched eight below on dvd over the weekend. its a really nice touching show. the dogs are so intelligent, brave and cute. a definite tear jerker.
why do a man like me cry when i watch movies and dramas? coz when i watch these shows, i really open myself to the emotions of the characters and feel them. in fact i like to cry when watching these kinda shows as i know when the show is over, everything is back to reality, whereby i have to go back to the man the society perceives to be.
it pains me to see u like this...

england lost!
watched the match at hard rock cafe. really had a nice feel to the place. there was an equal mix of english and portugese supporters and they were vocal in expressing their support. having a nice seat and drink helps too ;)
i think that england played their best match in the world cup so far. no more long balls. so many english players played outstandingly. gerrard, aaron lennon, owen hargreaves!, ashley cole and john terry. hargreaves sure answered his critics with his performance today. they controlled the midfield and limited the portugese to few chances. yet, that stupid rooney had to get himself send off. and while im at this, i want to voice my frustrations at the refereeing at this world cup. if a slight push like this warrants a red card, then shouldnt the push on petit by sneijder in the portugal vs holland match be a red card? he bloody hell pushed petit to the ground. there are so many inconsistencies throughout this world cup. a few penalties had been given for delibrate handballs in the penalty box. wat then should be the consequence of adducting ur arm to block a cross in the penalty box? nothing. and dun tell me its unintentional or ball to hand. its as stupid as de rossi telling the world that his elbow on mcbride was an accident. the portugese player's arm was obviously outstretched when the ball was kicked. then when he saw the ball was going under his arm, he pulled down his arm to block the ball. yes u can say the referee cant see everything. but its small crucial incidents like this tat get missed tat marred the whole world cup.
the penalty shootout. before the match ended, i told my fren that i got a very bad feeling if it gets to penalty shootout, ricardo will make many saves. and the 2 golden boys of england missed their penalties. lampard, who had a disappointing campaign so far continued his misery. gerrard, the saviour of liverpool on so many occasions, couldnt save england this time round. gerrard's expression when lampard missed the first penalty sums up the match. the bitterness on his face and the sour in his eyes as he looked away trying to hide his tears. bitter at fighting so hard even after one man down and still having to come down to the cruel penalty shootout. sour at their jinxed fate knowing that tis miss will make it so mucher harder for them to win. i will never forget that look.
i had always believed that england has the potential to win this world cup because despite them not playing to their best yet, they got to the quarters and when they finally start playing their best, they will be unstoppable. even though they played better today, they did not play to their full potential yet. it wasnt enough on this day, when luck and referee was against them. my heart goes with you, england...
ps: ronaldo winked at the portugese bench after getting rooney sent off. being his team mate at man utd, he knew all abt rooney's temperament. wat do u tink was in his mind when he went over to the referee?
