went to this restaurant called pasta de waraku at marina square with belle today. tink they have a branch at central mall at clarke quay also. the food there is really value for money. they categorize themselves as a japanese casual pasta and cafe restaurant but their pasta is anything but casual. they have a very wide variety of pastas, from spaghetti to gratin to pizza. one look at the display outside the restaurant and u'll agree. din take photos of the actual food we tried so just bear with the displays.

japanese seafood milestrone soup - $8.80
beef and vegetable spaghetti in tomota cream sauce - $14.80
scallop and mentai gratin - $12.80
also ordered a fried salmon cheese ($8.80) and chocolate banana crepe ice-cream ($9.80) tats not on display.

the place is a bit noisy as the waitering staff will just shout orders and greet customers here and there. slightly made up for it with its simple and clean decor.
the food is the highlight here. the beef and vegetable fettuccine in tomato cream sauce was good. its like tomato sauce mixed with the cream sauce in carbonara. the gravy made the springy fettuccine taste so gd. just when i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food after the milestrone soup and the tomato cream fettuccine, i tried the scallop gratin. the baked scallops were so good i smiled when i put it in my mouth. it just melts in your mouth after u get past the distinctive crusty surface. beneath the scallops was maccaroni in their yummy cream sauce once again.
for the price i mentioned above, pasta de waraku is definately value for money. not quite the place for a romantic weekend dinner but its the perfect place for a nice affordable weekday dinner to reward urself after a hard day at work.

been really too busy and tired to blog. anyway the biggest news that happened in my life is tat me and isabelle are finally together on 050907!! asked her over dinner at sakura and she agreed...so happy :). thanks to marvin for ur help too...was still tinking if i can carry off the stunt and such a coincidence to see u there too. really like this pic of us :)
